Large-leaved Lupine | Lupinus polyphyllus

The largest lupine species. Large palmate leaves and showy white-pink to purple-blue pea-like flowers on stalks.  Blooms May–August. Caution: all lupine species are toxic to livestock!

Habitat Notes Occurs in seasonally dry to marshy meadows, wetlands and damp forests, along stream banks and ditches, and in disturbed areas.

Shade Preference Shade, part-shade, sun
Soil Tolerance Prefers wet to moist soil.
Special Uses Attracts insects, bees, hummingbirds; bank stabilization; ornamental.
