Biennial or short-lived perennial; branching flower stalks with bright yellow flowers. Stems are a purplish-red in color. Leaves are dark green and deeply lobed.

Annual, sometimes biennial; cobwebby hairs cover stems and undersides of leaves. Leaves are alternate and lance-shaped. Stems are slender, slightly winged and have spines along entire length. Flowers are thimble size, purple to pinkinsh in color, grow in cluster of 2 to 5 and branch at the tips. Flowers blum from spring to midsummer.

Biennial; foliage is covered with woolly, pale gray hairs which give the plant a grey-green or silvery color. Stems are winged with spines along the entire length. White or purple flowers stand alone on branch tips.

Erect, annual, broadleaved plant. Leaves are large, velvety and heart-shaped with pointy tips. Flowers are yellow, five petaled, bloom in late summer. Seeds borne in a 1 inch wide capsule with 12-15 segments forming  cup shaped pods. Grows tall on branching stalks covered in fine hairs.

Erect, tap-rooted plant 1-4 ft tall. Annual, biennial or short-lived perennial. Plant grows as a rosette until sending up flowering stalk. Small, white flowers in flat-topped, compound umbels with a pink or purple flower in the middle. Stems bristly, hollow and ridged.

Perennial; upright or trailing depending on conditions. Small yellow bell shaped flowers that grow in pairs of clusters close to stems. Stems are square, opposite leaves with silver or white pattern on top and course toothed and hairy edges. Spreads by seeds and runners.

Annual, sometimes biennial; gray-green to blue-green in color. Stems and leaves are covered with cotton-like wool. Basal leaves are 2-3” long, uppper leaves are short and narrow. Bright yellow flowers with spines surrounding the base of the flower.
