Attractive as ornamental. Can spread via roots as well as seedlings.

Habitat Notes Shallow Marsh; Wet prairie. Throughout Willamette Valley. Good drought tolerance. Excellent tolerance of very wet winter conditions. Moist to seasonally wet meadows and freshwater wetlands.
