Annual Winter Plant Sale FAQs

May contain: berry, blueberry, food, fruit, plant, and produce

How does the annual winter plant sale work?

Our winter plant sale is a preorder sale that opens on October 1st each year and closes one week before the pick up day. You may place an order for the 2026 sale on the Square site here. The store closes on Monday, February 16th, 2026.

When is the 2026 sale pick up day?

The 2026 winter plant sale pick up day is Saturday, February 28th, 2026.

Where is the pick up location?

Pick up location is the Benton County Fairgrounds in the Solar Building. The address is 110 SW 53rd St, Corvallis, OR 97333. The gates to the main gravel parking lot will be open on the pick up day.

Do I have to pick up my order? What happens if I don't?

Yes, you must pick up your order at the time you signed up for. All orders that are not picked up by the end of the pick up day will be donated to local restoration projects and no refunds will be issued. If you are unable to pick up an order you placed, arrange for someone else to pick it up for you and notate that person's name on the Signup Genuis page. (Ex: "Adam Smith will be picking up my order for me. Order #....")

How do I sign up for a pick up time?

We use digital Signup Genuis forms each year to assign pick up times in 15-minute increments to ensure the traffic for the day remains steady. Access the 2026 Signup Genuis page here.

Some of the plants I ordered were not available on pick up day. Why?

Unfortunately, there is always a chance that certain species die in production over the winter months and end up being unavailable when pick up day rolls around. Let a Benton SWCD staff person know that you are missing plants from your order at the Information Table and you will be issued a refund for any/all plants that are unavailable on pick up day.

Where do you get your plants for the sale from?

We try to support local nurseries for our plant sale. Most of our inventory comes from Sevenoaks Native Nursery, Willamette Gardens, and Champoeg Nursery

Why is there a limit of 5 plants per species? What if I need more than that?

We have a limit of 5 plants per species to accomodate for the large number of customers we get for this sale. If you are looking for larger quantities of plants for restoration projects, we recommend placing an order with the nurseries directly.

Does Benton SWCD do other plant sales besides this one?

Yes! We do a Bulb and Seed Sale for native species every year at Corvallis Fall Festival. We are a proud sponsor of the 2025 Fall Festival and can't wait to do it again in 2026!
