PARTNER EVENT: Nelson’s checkermallowplanting at Herbert Farm & Natural Area
9:00am-3:00pm
Herbert Farm & Natural Area is an open space off the south end of Corvallis and includes native Oak groves, riparian woodland, upland prairies and wetlands. The former agricultural fields are being restored to natural habitats – much of this involving planting species like Nelson’s checkermallow. Please join the Institute for Applied Ecology to plant this beautiful perennial forb on December 7. This is a great opportunity to see one of the most beautiful natural areas in the City of Corvallis, meet new friends, and help restore habitat for an important local endangered species endemic to the Willamette Valley. Tools, work materials, and work gloves will be provided for all; just dress warmly for the weather, in sturdy shoes for the wet ground conditions.
Please RSVP to Evan Lasley atevanlasley@appliedeco.orgif you’d like to participate or have questions.
