Preventing Phytophthora Contamination in Native Plant Nurseries

Over the past several years, numerous Phytophthora plant pathogens have been detected in California native plant nurseries and habitat restoration sites. These findings spurred follow-up investigations that indicate a similarly high infestation rate in Oregon and Washington native plant nurseries.

The Benton Soil and Water District is partnering with OSU and WSU to sponsor a half day workshop on April 26 2017 to inform native plant nurseries about this problem, and to share nursery best management practices that will minimize the likelihood that native plant nursery stock will be infested with pathogenic Phytophthora species. We invite and encourage your participation to promote the health of your native plants and contribute to the success of restoration efforts.

The same workshop will be offered in Washington on May 9, 2017 at WSU Puyallup.

Registration: REQUIRED! $35 includes half-day workshop, supplies, and lunch.
