Educational posters

  • Ground Water: The Hidden Resource! A colorful poster with lesson activities regarding groundwater movement and recharge-discharge cycles. For grade school audience.
  • The Colors of Soil  --Great educational poster comlete with some background information about soils, a glossary, and student activities.  Suitable for 5th grade students and up.

  • Sammy Soil CD-ROM -- developed by the Natural Resource Conservation Service in Tenessee to help you teach your K-2 students about soil, how erosion affects it, and how erosion can be prevented.  After all of the different sessions have been completed, there is a question and answer game and a printable certificate.  This CD can be used with Windows 95 or 98 or Macintosh.  It can be run directly from the CD or installed on your hard drive.
  • Blue Thumb Project - international campaign designed to generate growing movement toward water-responsible action. Packet includes water conservation education and tools for activity participation and influencing others. Packet designed to coincide with annual Drinking Water Week (usually early May) but materials applicable year-round

The Benton Soil and Water Conservation District has a variety of resources available to the community for watershed enhancement/restoration projects and natural resources education. From planting equipment to educational materials, we try to help you get conservation practices on the ground.
