Native Plant Sale Volunteer Opportunities
This year we have a number of volunteer opportunities during the 2010 Native Plant Sale.
Lead Volunteer Positions
Lead volunteer positions include:
5 Plant station lead volunteers
1 personal assistant for Alice (tree sale coordinator) - volunteer all day and maybe earlier in the week
1 parking crew supervisor - volunteer all day
The Benton SWCD is seeking ENTHUSIASTIC, RESPONSIBLE, EXPERIENCED volunteers to serve as Plant Station Leaders during our Native Plant Sale pick up date Saturday February 6, 8:30 AM – 5 PM
Plant Station Leader Duties include:
Work the entire day
Train and supervise workers at your station through changing shifts
Be responsible for the accurate distribution of plants
Attend lead volunteer training on Thursday, January 28, 2010, 3 – 4 PM. Location to be announced

Additional Volunteer Positions for the 2010 Native Plant Sale
Additional volunteer jobs include:
Thursday, February 4, 2010 and Friday, February 5, 2010 10 AM to 4 PM
Site set up, including: site clean-up, receive and inventory plants, set up plant stations, prepare food donations for volunteers
Saturday, February 6 – tasks include:
Greeter station: find customer’s order sheet and cross their name off a list.
Plant station: Help customers with orders at one of five stations: conifer, broadleaf, large shrubs/small trees, small shrubs/groundcover, flowers/grasses/groundcover
Parking crew: Direct parking and prevent collisions
Please specify the volunteer shift and task you would like to work when you sign up to volunteer.
Volunteer shifts are 3 hours long:
8:30 to 11:30 AM
11:30 AM – 2:30 PM
2:30 – 5:30 PM.
Saturday Feb 6 – Customers’ hours are 9AM to 5PM.
Sunday Feb 7 – 10AM to 2PM – OVERSTOCK SALE – help customers buy leftover plants (5-10 volunteers)
