Volunteer

Volunteers make this program possible. The field work requires a significant amount of time and with many hands the work is lighter. Our volunteers are a varied group of people with different backgrounds and interests. The commonality is their interest in helping to improve the waterways in our watersheds.

The Benton Soil and Water Conservation District Fish Passage Improvement program is looking for volunteers. Our main goal is to collect a comprehensive database of potential fish passage issues in local streams. This is accomplished with volunteer help by taking measurements of blockages like culverts and dams using survey equipment and GPS. Please contact us if you are interested in developing GPS experience, helping to restore fish passage and in working with other cool people.
